If you care one tiny little bit about animation,
here is an interview with legendary animator Glen Keane that you should read.
It's primarily about the animation in Tangled (which was gorgeous), and also about his life's work (in and outside of Disney) and how he applies the fundamentals of art to digital media.
A quote that rang with a lot of truth to me:
"See, the computer always tries to do everything symmetrical. Asymmetry is beauty. Symmetry is cold, and lifeless."
He's not saying he hates digital media; basically, he's saying that automation isn't aesthetically pleasing. It's the job of the artist to manipulate and control the art form, in the lopsided way that only humans can manage.
This is a principle I whole-heartedly believe, and I realize now that it's something I've started to lose sight of.
