I always love the start of a new year, when everything seems possible.
I got up early because I wanted to start my day and year off as I mean to continue, and that was with exercise!. We had a couple of inches of snow last night, and it's just cold enough to ice up a bit as well, but I threw on coat, gloves, hat and boots and headed out regardless. So my day began with a 5km walk, which I was pretty proud of.
I'm also definitely 100% for sure restarting Let's Get Healthy for 2024. My sister and I were supposed to be working towards that result in '23. I basically just lost and regained the same 10 pounds. My sister, however, KICKED ASS and lost 27.5 pounds last year. She's my inspiration for this year. (And she's continuing towards her goal too, except not this week because she had an almost-fall that resulted in a big twist and she's injured her back.)
(I'll be doing weigh-ins on Saturdays in case anyone wants to join me.)
My reading goal this year is 150 books. I've joined three long-ish prompt-based challenges so far at Goodreads:
01.
Around the Year in 52 Books - all of the prompts were suggested and voted on by members of the challenge comm
02. Lost Challenges'
74 Letters - there's a prompt for the letters of each month
03. In the Challenges & Fandoms comm I joined
Read What You Love, where you fill out a little survey and read books based on the results
And not necessarily a challenge, but I'm tracking my series -- of which I currently have 13 on the go -- at Crazy Challenge Connections
Let's Get Them Finished I'm sure I'll join more as I find more fun ones.
I've got my two book journals and my regular journal all set, so I'm ready. LET'S DO THIS, 2024.
