93. Husband Material by Alexis Hall
I so wanted to love this with the gleeful abandon with which I loved Boyfriend Material. The building blocks are all there for a glorious sequel. But then it starts out with a trope that I hate. Honestly, if a photo of your fiance in a public place with another woman is enough to make you doubt his fidelity, then don’t get married because that is DOOMED to failure. That little subplot is thankfully resolved quickly and there’s a few chapters that then take an upswing into awesomeness. Also, I love Luc’s coworkers. And then, *thump*, the whole thing is just dragged down by the ridiculous premise and the never-ending existential-esque argument that takes up ¾ of the book. I’m sad.
