Book #22 -
22. Archangel's Light by Nalini Singh
The 14th book in the Guild Hunter series finally brings us Aodhan and Illium's story, the ultimate friends to lovers tale 500 years in the making! It begins with the two on prickly ground, both not communicating well and hiding what they need to say. It wasn't as annoying as I usually find that trope because there are very valid reasons why both are reticent. About 1/3 of the way through the action picks up, as the angels have to work together to solve a mystery in China. I can't say I was pleased with how the mystery turned out, and Singh pulls up short and doesn't fully commit to the romance (okay, the sex) like she would with a het couple. But I enjoyed seeing the angels make their way towards each other, and the flashbacks to young Sparkle and Bluebell were a treat!
