Tonight was the monthly donor online Zoom pizza party for the
Happily Ever Esther Farm Sanctuary. I don't think I stopped grinning for an hour. First the guys had set up about 50 pizzas in two pastures. Then they opened the gates and let the piggies go wild! Oh my god, watching these pigs scurry from box to box was hilarious. They are SO adorable. Last year Captain Dan (he's the head of his herd) ate five pizzas alone! This year he only had 2.5. He's slimming down and watching the calories, obviously.
I took some pictures (of my computer screen, so crap quality) of the other animals getting their treats. I didn't even think of it during the pigs coz I was so enthralled!
Above: Pizza for the bunnies and the chickens. This was crust but then it just had veggies on it. Possibly some grapes.
Above: The sheep and the goats. The caregivers go out before and prepare a "field pizza" for the goats/sheep/horse/donkey/cows. This is spreading hay on the ground and then "topping" it with things like watermelon, lettuce, cabbage, etc. Things that those animals consider yummy!
BJ the donkey and Escalade the horse enjoying their field pizza.
Here's Pouty (in brown) and Sir Denver (in white) also loving their field pizza.
You may remember these lovebirds! The last time we saw these two they were going on a valentine's date in Nancy's new jeep. Here, Nancy and Mary enjoy a yummy pizza topped with greens and I am pretty sure there were grapes on this one.
Cornelius!! Corno is the 'house turkey' who lives inside with Esther and her dads (and Phil the dog and Dolores the cat.) This is *just* before he snatched that entire slice of pizza and ran off to the other side of the room to eat it.
And the glorious lady herself, Esther the Wonder Pig. She is actually on a diet because she has stomach ulcers, so her pizza consisted of pie-wedge-shaped watermelon!
And that was my Saturday evening! :)
