We don't have a parliamentary system. Removing a president through congressional impeachment isn't instant. It was 4 AM and the U.S. Congress had spent all day sheltering from a terrorist attack, then come back to work to finish affirming for the historical record that Trump was voted out of office. Please have some kind of humanity towards "the politicians."

Thinking as if I were one of those politicians, though, I would not feel comfortable returning there unless I had done everything I could do ensure my safety, which would including getting rid of Trump. I realize that impeachment isn't instant, but I just get so damned tired of all the politically correct condemnation statements. How incredibly freeing would it have felt to stand up and just bluntly say, "The President is a malignant narcissistic who just incited a mob to attempt to overthrow the government, and I call on Mike Pence to immediately invoke the 25th Amendment"? At least TRY.

Okay, but that's exactly what all the Democrats have said. Some of them didn't say it until after the sun came up on the 7th instead of at 4 AM on the floor of the House chamber. Is that really so different that it makes you hopeless about the future of America?
