Good-bye, 2020!

Dec 31, 2020 23:22

Well, I spent yesterday and part of today feeling just rotten, which just totally FITS with the ending of this completely shitty year. But I started feeling better around dinner time, which is ALSO fitting since 2021 is going to be such a better year. It is, right? We have to have turned the corner, right? Vaccines are being rolled out as we speak. Now we just gotta wipe out those damn murder hornets!

I read one more book this year, End of Summer by S.M. Anderson, the first in a series of post-apocalyptic books. The plot is that a virus escapes from a lab, killing off most of the world's population. The story is mostly told from two points of view: a former soldier who loses his pregnant wife to the virus, and a young boy named Pro who similarly loses his family. Eventually these two find each other and determine to put an end to the abuse and slave-like conditions that other survivors are suffering. Anderson does great at switching between these two very different POVs. I definitely will eventually pick up the next book in the series.

My total for the year is pretty sad:
Books Read: 31/85
Goodreads Reading Challenge: 29/52
Popsugar Reading Challenge: 19/40
Total Pages Read: 10512

It can only get better from here, and that applies to everything!
