... except, notsomuch.
Went to see Resident Evil: Afterlife tonight. Thank you, Jen of the Awesome Fabulousness, for breaking your "I will never go to an opening night" rule. I think you've actually broken that rule for me before, possibly for Resident Evil: Extinction. You rock. :)
Good points: Milla looks SMOKIN' HOT. Boris Kodjoe is in it, which I didn't know, and I adore his shiny bald head. Milla pulls a John McClane from the top of a building which starts out really cool. Wentworth Miller is good.
Bad points: Wentworth Miller and Ali Larter don't have enough to do. The finish of the John McClane move ends up really stupid. And the big bad point: NOT ENOUGH ZOMBIES. Like, seriously, I GO FOR THE ZOMBIES. I want survivors struggling to stay alive and zombie attacks and somebody getting bitten and fun creepy stuff like that. And I know, I know, the movies are based on video games and the video games I guess have monsters and mutants and stuff, but you know what? THAT'S NOT SCARY. So I guess the odd-numbered Res Evil's will be the really good ones, and the even-numbered Res Evils will be the stupid mutant ones. That means Res Evil 5 should kick ass. (And they've totally set it up for a Part 5, oh yes they have.)
Also? This is the first movie I've seen in 3D, and I hate it as much as I thought I would. It's just like I thought: the director shoots a scene not based on what would best serve the moment, but on how to have things flying at the camera. DUMB. Also, I'm not 10 and I'm well aware that that flying coin/bullet/axe is not going to hit me in the face. And I got a headache. Stupid 3D.
... and now I want a grilled-cheese sandwich and I have no bread. *considers walk to variety store at 2:40am*
