BOOM!
So I'm happily sleeping this afternoon when the smoke alarm in the apartment building goes off. After moaning and groaning, I finally get up to check it out only to discover WATER POURING LIKE A RIVER DOWN THE STAIRS. I hastily throw on some clothes and put Cassie in her carrier and make my way down the verrrrrrrrrrrry slippery stairs. Turns out -- our hot water tank BLEW UP. Yes. Apparently there was also a big BOOM! that I managed to *sleep through*. Heh.
So my afternoon was spent on the front lawn. There were four fire trucks, hydro people, property management people, and plumbing people. (BTW, every.single.one of the firemen was hot. No lie.) After several hours we were finally escorted back inside up the still verrrrrrrrrry slippery stairs. Electricity came back a few hours after that, much earlier than I thought it would!
SO TIRED OMG. Work tonight is going to be tough.
