Actors and Actresses Meme

THE MEME: Comment with "ACTION!" and I will give you a list of ten actors and actresses. Then post in your LJ with your favourite films of theirs.

My list is from cmk418, and it was a lot harder than I thought, if only because I apparently do not see a lot of films starring these people. IMDB is my friend. Heh.

1. Matt Dillon - To Die For. Though honestly, it's all about Nicole in this film for me. But it was this or, like, My Bodyguard.

2. River Phoenix - No doubt, Stand By Me. Of all the young actors in that film, he was the one who stood out and who had the most potential. His death at such a young age is still a tragedy. (Also, bonus: young hot Kiefer Sutherland.)

3. Keanu Reeves - Speed. Keanu's wooden acting aside, this movie is a total guilty pleasure.

4. Christian Slater - This one was tough. Interview with the Vampire wins, because it was one of the few movies on Christian's IMDB list that I didn't hate (omg, Heathers. And full body shudder for that atrocity, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves) or have no memory of him even being in (he was in Young Guns II? Really?)

5. Ben Affleck - I really really really want to say 200 Cigarettes, because I remember loving that movie (even though I only saw it once, when it first came out). But I can't really remember Ben that much. So Armageddon has to win this one, because Ben has a pretty big part and his AJ is well acted for, you know, the type of movie this is. ie. a really big, bombastic, cheesy one. :) (Also, bonus: BRUCE.)

6. Robin Williams - Gotta go with the classic, Good Morning, Vietnam.

7. Vince Vaughn - Dodgeball. One of the few films starring Vaughn that I've seen, and I LOVE it. This is my kind of comedy. (Also, bonus: Justin Long being hilarious.)

8. Sean Penn - This was really really hard. I have a lot of love for Racing With The Moon, and his Spicoli in Fast Times at Ridgemont High is classic. But I've gotta go with Milk. Sean BECAME Harvey Milk in that movie, and his Oscar for his performance was so well deserved.

9. Marlon Brando - Hm, not really a fan of Mr. Brando. So I went with Guys and Dolls, just because I don't remember him mumbling in it. Heh, I *almost* chose The Island of Dr. Moreau because that movie is SO BAD it made me laugh for weeks afterward. I'm pretty sure one of my fave movie lines, "I call it... the contraption" came from that movie. Heh.

10. Johnny Depp - Benny and Joon, absolutely, even though Depp could probably play this role in his sleep. He's just so endearing!

1. Anna Paquin - Almost Famous, which I adore. Anna has a small part, but she's great.

2. Holly Hunter - Okay, so when I read Holly Hunter I thought, "oooh, I like her in a ton of things!" So off to IMDB I go... where I discover that I'm thinking of Bonnie Hunt. Holly Hunter? Not so much with the love. Going with The Piano by default.

3. Annette Bening - The Siege, because she mostly does movies of the type I have no interest in seeing. (Also, bonus: BRUCE.)

4. Bette Davis - It's been way too long since I've seen a Bette Davis movie. They don't seem to show the oldies on TV anymore. Going with Jezebel, brilliantly acted.

5. Julia Roberts - HATE HATE HATE. Picking Flatliners, because I could spend most of the movie hoping she'd die. (Bonus: young Kiefer)

6. Neve Campbell - I've only seen the Scream movies. Choosing Scream 2, because I remember enjoying it the best.

7. Sandra Bullock - Who doesn't love Sandy? This was difficult to choose. I love Miss Congeniality, but I also love that she changed things up with Murder by Numbers. In the end, I gotta go with Demolition Man. She's so adorable, plus there's Stallone and Denis Leary. What's not to love?

8. Diane Lane - My immediate answer is Streets of Fire. I love movies with that sense of heightened reality, and Diane is great as a sexy singer who needs rescuin'. ;) (I almost picked Ladies and Gentlemen: The Fabulous Stains, but I had to admit that that was more for my love of Ray Winstone than Ms. Lane.)

9. Meg Ryan - Not really a fan, so I'm going with When Harry Met Sally by default.

10. Meryl Streep - She's done so many fabulous roles! I really didn't realize it until I actually looked at her IMDB list. It was hard to choose, but I think my fave is Silkwood. Everything about that film worked.

Heh, that was fun!

Also, I was so busy writing last week that I forgot about Castoff Island! Hopefully I'll get to it soon. :)
