One Year into mission101

Mar 01, 2009 22:26

I am now officially one year into my 101 Challenge! This year has flown by, and I've struggled with the list lately. Some of that has to do with my state of mind, and some of it with this NEVER ENDING WINTER. I am hoping that when Spring finally arrives I'll be more motivated to get out and accomplish more of the things on my list that I'm currently ignoring in order to hunker down and stay warm. ;)

Here's my stats thus far:
# of Items on List: 101
Completed Items: 35
In Progress Items: 14
Failures: 3

So basically I've completed or started half of the items on the list. That's not too shabby. :)

Change

I made a change in Item #64. Due to personal circumstances I'm not able to work on a daily photography goal, but I wanted to keep the goal linked to photography. So this goal has been changed from "Participate in Project365" to "Participate in 100_snapshots".

Completed:
#7 - Make scrapbook for trip: NYC 2008
I haven't scrapbooked for a while and I've been really enjoying getting back into it. Aside from this trip, I also scrapbooked my trips to Toronto and Niagara Falls in 2008.

In Progress

#9 - Make scrapbook for trip: Stockbridge 2008
I am about half way done this one. I took lots of pics.

#21 - Read 130 books
57. Here's What We'll Say: Growing Up, Coming Out, and the U.S. Air Force Academy by Reichen Lehmkuhl (If you've ever seen the season of Amazing Race in which Reichen and his then-husband Chip competed, you know that Reichen comes across as reasonably attractive and somewhat dim, though always good-hearted. That's exactly how he seems in this book, as he recounts his time in the Air Force Academy and his acceptance of his own sexuality while there. Not exactly stimulating prose, but it was good to see that with Reichen, what you see is apparently what you get.
58. Maurice by E.M. Forster (re-read)
59. Salem's Lot by Stephen King (re-read)
60. Skeleton Crew by Stephen King (re-read)
61. Different Seasons by Stephen King (re-read)

#39 - Watch 50 movies
27. Dogma starring Matt Damon & Ben Afflect -- My niece Krystle loves Kevin Smith and insisted that I had to watch one of his movies. I gave it a go, and tried to go in with an open mind. I enjoyed Matt Damon's part, and the Buddy Christ was pretty amusing, but generally I thought the movie was trying to hard to be clever. Also, Jay and Silent Bob are just not my cup of tea.

#70 - Print Photos Monthly to Avoid Backlog
February's photos have been printed. {1/22}

Goal List

I hope to make a more personal entry tomorrow. Gotta leave for work now.

Oh. And I had to use this new Meloni icon. THOSE EYES.
