How exciting was that medley relay?! OMG! HE DID IT!! And Dara Torres got silver in the 50m at 41! WOOOOOO! GO USA SWIMMERS!

P.S. As much as I was cheering on Grant Hackett in the 1500m, I was still excited to see the Canadian bronze in that event. It was sad Grant didn't win it (but he still got silver!!), just like earlier in the week with Pieter van den Hoogenband's 100m free 5th place finish. It's the end of an era with the probable retirement of them both.

I was on the edge of my seat! That was an awesome display. I hope that Michael's accomplishment inspires a whole new generation of swimmers.

Dara Torres is awesome. Did you see how she sort of delayed an earlier race because one of her competitors had a ripped swimsuit? What an amazing thing to do. She seems like a really wonderful woman as well as an amazing swimmer.

Grant Hackett should be so proud. As should all these athletes. Man, I love the Olympics!

Don't feel bad, I was watching badminton this morning. But Constantina Tumesco-Dita darn near had me in tears. Between her and Dan Torres those youngsters better watch out.

Just saw the 33 year old gymnast originally from Russia and now from Germany won the silver medal in vault. They said she moved to Germany because her son had Leukemia and they saved his life so she decided to compete for Germany to honor the country that she owes so much. It just is awsome to see someone older able to compete at that level.

Aww, I saw that too. Nothing beats a story like that.

Unrelatedly... I just watched the Russian womens gold medalist clear 5.05m in pole vault and set a new world record. Amazing!
