Christmas time again

Dec 03, 2003 22:05

So I'm browsing around on Amazon.ca, flicking through some web pages, trying to do up a Christmas list for my family (Yes, we still do lists. Yes, I'm actually 21. I know. We're old-fashioned that way) when I realize that when it comes to material goods, there's not really much I actually *want*, per se ( Read more... )

Yeah, I know what you mean. When I was a kid, I always knew what I wanted for Christmas. Now I just kind of go, "Umm..." and would rather buy toys for my kitty than get presents. (Except for FFX2. ::makes grabby hands:: I think that's my one gift from my parents this year, and I'm happy!)

Yep, I'm facing the same thing. I'd like presents, but there's really not a lot of anything that I can think of off the top of my head that I want and could reasonably ask for. Sure, there are a lot of things I'd like to have, but there is no hope that I'd get them for christmas, as they cost far too much. Either that, it's only the sort of thing you find while browsing through a store, and only particular stores at that, so I can't just name it.

But really, I'm finding that getting tons of presents isn't such a great thing anyways. Then you have to find somewhere to put all of that stuff.

"Everyone, go out and do something nice for yourselves. Don't just buy yourself stuff - do something that you really enjoy and wouldn't normally be able to make time for. Something that isn't an everyday thing that make you feel really good. Take some time to indulge yourself. Be happy. Then, write me a letter or an e-mail about it. I think that would be a pretty decent gift :)"

God.

GOD.

You make me want to puke flowers, man.

Right, then, a slight revision.

"For Christmas, stab yourself in the gut with a rusty shiv and give me the gift of your death, so I don't have to put up with you anymore. You jerks. I hate you all."

That a little more your thing, Travis? ;)

If you put in a curse word or two, I'll ask you to marry me.
