Sometime last week my computer broke, and I just got it fixed yesterday. Which partially explains my absence.

I'm going to try to update at least once a week, from now on.

I'm not sure why, but I never got past page 20 or so in Trainspotting. I got distracted. I put it down and started reading "The Stranger Beside Me", which is an odd book. It's about Ted Bundy, written by a woman who knew him. It's interesting, but I find it odd how the author can't keep her and Ted's ages straight. First she says when he was 24 she was almost 35, then she says, in the same sentence, she was 15 years older than him, and in another place she says he was older than her.

Finding out that someone you know and trust is a serial killer must be one of the weirdest feelings in the world. Kind of like that part in "Apt Pupil" when the guy who fell off the ladder realizes that the man in the hospital bed beside his was a Nazi officer when he was in a concentration camp. Or, to a much lesser extent, like the part in "Serial Mom" when Dottie Hinkle realizes that it was Beverly who was making the phone calls.

I had a point, but I lost it.
