Holiday season means meme season, so here's one: imagine what your favourite show/book/comic/film would be like if it was written/directed/drawn in the style of your favourite authors? (okay my formulation might be a bit obscure, but read what's below the cut, you'll understand quickly enough)
Sherlock remixed by:
-Alan Moore (comics author; favourite books: The Watchmen, From Hell, Lost Girls, Jack B. Quick, Top Ten, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen)
It would be more on the esoteric side, with a really twisted and complicated plot. The series would be about 30 episodes for one season (but each episode would still last 1 hour and 30 minutes). Sherlock and John would screw then destroy each other on screen. Or maybe Moore would be more of a Moriarty/Sherlock shipper. Yeah, he could make it happen.
-Yoshihiro Togashi (mangaka; favourite books: Yuyu Hakusho, Level E, HunterxHunter)
The deductions would be truly brilliant, perfectly logical and even more complex. Also, Sherlock and John would totally sleep together because everybody knows how much of a yaoi fangirl Togashi is.
-George R.R. Martin (writer; favourite books: A Song of Ice and Fire saga)
The real heroes would actually be Anderson and Molly, John would get horribly disfigured or maimed or both but that would make him even more of a BAMF, and everybody would have at least three motives to do anything, even when drinking tea. Everyone would try to screw everyone else twice over. Also, Mrs Hudson would turn out to be the evil-est genius of them all.
-Margaret Atwood (writer; favourite book: The Edible Woman)
The mystery plot or the deductions wouldn't be the main focus at all, but the psychological development would be very deep. The characters would lie to themselves and to each other. John and Sherlock's relationship might or might not work out in the end.
-Joss Whedon (writer, director, producer, composer; favourite creations: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, Astonishing X-Men)
Even more brilliant jokes, Molly would grow stronger and empowered and pretty kickass and might even go out with Anthea. Mycroft would be scarier and even more devious. The only sad thing is that there wouldn't be as much slash, if any at all; Whedon is pretty rubbish with gay males. Also, he might kill John. Just because he can. Or he would make Sally awesome and lovable and awesome, and then he'd kill her.
Feel free to snatch as you like. ^^
