Almost Human
So I'm watching this new Fox series called Almost Human. It's your typical cop show with the standard grizzled vet, out-of-it partner and background female researcher team, but within a cyberpunk setting. There looks to be an episodic format with an overarching plot about some guys in monster masks, but everything's unclear at this point. Even the tech level, which should be the first thing to jump out at you in cyberpunk, is vague. Almost Human has high-gear androids and cruisers, but normal munitions and computers. The city has the dark, slummy feel of a seedy megacorp project, but apparently no one thought to use the towering mass of steel and cables shown in every work in the genre. Guess this is just twenty minutes into the future.
