My problems with Eclipse, let me show you them.

Went to see Eclipse with the cousin.

Oh god, my head. I still fail to see the appeal of Edward. Besides not finding him attractive at all --his forehead! It juts out so far when he broods I'm sure you could safely hide under it during the rainy season-- I just don't feel comfortable with his brand of love. I'm sure part of it has to do with the fact that I'm a little older than the intended audience, but all that controlling bullshit thinly veiled as protectiveness just feels smothering. I mean, he takes the fucking battery out of her car so that she won't go see Jacob! WTF happened to boundaries, bro? And he does this because he thinks Jacob is dangerous and could unintentionally hurt her. So says the vampire who used to lust for her blood and who just destroyed her private property in an effort to keep her away from her friend. WHAT? I can't even compare this to the kettle calling the pot black. It's more like one turd telling another slightly smaller turd that he stinks.

I'm not a fan of Jacob's. Mostly because it annoys me that's he just ignores Bella telling him that she only sees him as a friend. I used to really think he was cute in the first movie, but now I find him so presumptuous in that he acts like he knows Bella's feelings better than she does. This is made no less irritating when the movie actually proves him right.

There's also the fact that I'm frustrated with the punching scene and the way it was played for laughs. I hate that Bella can't even fight back when Jacob forces a kiss on her and we're supposed to laugh because, Oh silly Bella, doesn't she realize that she can't possibly hurt him. Oh adorable, she hurt her little hand.  At least, they didn't follow the book and have her not even know how to curl her hand when she was gonna throw a punch. That was just patronizing.

Most of all, I just can't get over thinking that if she'd kneed him in the balls, he would have gone down before she could have said, "Reconstructive surgery."

And Kristen Stewart! She has this annoying mannerism  where she just shakes-more like vibrates- her head repeatedly and just GOD! I don't know why that annoys me so much! I think I've seen her in other movies and she's never annoyed me to this extent. Actually, now that I think about it, I quite liked RPattz as Cedric Diggory. It has to be something about these particular movies. It's like they suck any ounce of talent these kids have.

As for what I did like:

The score. I'm not gonna go into detail but I really liked the music in this movie.

Rosalie! I think the actress played her character brilliantly in that one scene where she talks about what happened to her in the past. That's possibly my favorite scene in the movie. I know that sounds weird if you know what happens in it, but I thought that the way it was shot plus the way the actress played it were all just wonderful.

Charlie! I like him in the movies a million times more that I ever did in the books. Thank god they cut that scene in the book where he acted like he was totally okay with Jacob forcing Bella to kiss him. I kinda wanted to strangle book!Charlie.

Alice/Jasper! What can I say, I felt more emotion in that one scene where Jasper had that tear in his eye as he talked about meeting Alice than I did throughout the whole movie.

Meh. That's about it.
