Ahh, where to begin? I'll start with my morning.
Samson(Elaine) and I woke up at 11 and went to the rec like we did yesterday, and I gave her the second of hopefully many swim lessons. She didn't know how to swim at all, but by the end of our session today, she could do the breast stroke for a full lap and free style half of one. Teaching her to swim has been one of the most rewarding of my experiences here so far. After we showered and got nice and pretty, we went to lunch with Amanda and Adam.
After lunch, just as I was sitting down to study, Blayne and Missy called and said they were on their way to Miami. I quickly got permission emailed to the advisors here and they picked me up this afternoon. It was absolutly wonderful.
The weather was perfect. We went biking, swimming, and horse back riding. The day was perfect. We ended our adventure with Chipotle-style Mexican food and some good ole' Coldstone ice cream. I knew I missed them a lot, but I didn't know just how much until I saw them again. Everything in the world seems to rightly stand still when the three of us get together.
Tonight, I study, of course. I've got quite a bit of work to do. I've taken the difficulty I'm having with my history class as a challenge, and it's been helpful in dulling my homesickness by giving me a direct purpose here.
I've got to shower away the smell of horses and take some notes 'n shit. I hope Molly Lafferty arrived home safe and sound and is enjoying the comfort of her own bed, as well as a very happy seventeenth birthday tomorrow.
