So, yes, I survived the trip to Tennessee. Mostly, at least. My poor back hasn't forgiven me quite yet, and my sleep schedule is apparently completely out of whack considering I fell asleep on the sofa (about five minutes after sitting down to put in work for Part-Time Job on my laptop, because it's just been that kind of week :-/) at something like 8pm last night and didn't wake up until almost 10am this morning.
... yeah. I wish that I was kidding. On the positive side, I actually feel somewhat human now. Except for my back. Sleeping on the sofa apparently isn't the best thing to do when it's already protesting.
It's supposed to be storming most of the day, so I'm going to try to catch up on all of the things that I'd planned on doing this week. That, you know, didn't get done thanks to the unexpected trip to Tennessee. Mostly related to cleaning my apartment due to the ever-growing layer of cat hair on everything.
Hmm. What else has happened over the past week or so that I haven't mentioned yet?
Last Saturday, Gilly's (the bar that I frequent) had their seventh birthday party, which involved lots of drink/food specials, live music, giveaways, and the like. I got a call on Sunday, about halfway through the state of Virginia, letting me know that I'd won the big prize that they'd been giving away: a Carlsberg foosball table. I have no idea whatsoever what I'm going to do with it, but I'm borrowing MJZ's SUV (and, more importantly, her husband) tomorrow in order to get it to my apartment. It's at least boxed up, so I can stick the box in a closet for now.
Needless to say, I'm thrilled with the decision by SCOTUS yesterday. On a selfish note, however, I'm pretty thankful that it didn't happen while I was still in Tennessee. I had to hold my tongue several times because of conversations going on around me involving recent events, and there might have been literal bloodshed if I'd still been staying with my parents when the news broke. It's been bad enough trying to not engage with people on Facebook.
I'm trying to play catch-up on Dreamwidth and LiveJournal today, and I might even poke my head into Tumblr in a bit depending on how things play out. Now that I've actually caught up on sleep, the urge to actually do things is coming back out. Which is a good thing, considering how behind I am on basically everything.
