Monday in DC

Guess who has a
kuwdora? \o/

I took off work yesterday, and the two of us played tourist in DC all day. We spent the morning at the Air and Space Museum before walking to Chinatown to find food, where we stumbled upon a hidden gem. There was a BBQ place that didn't look like much from outside, but we decided to give it a chance. I now have a new favorite restaurant. (Sweet tea! Actual sweet tea that tastes like sweet tea is supposed to taste!)

Afterward, we wandered back to the Mall where we hit up the Museum of Natural History. (Also known as my home away from home. Seriously, the display where they go from the beginning of life on earth all the way to the end of the last Ice Age? I could live there.) We wandered for a bit before going back outside and sitting down in the shade to talk for a little while. By which I mean an hour. Or two.

By then, it was getting close to 7pm, and we headed back in the direction of Chinatown to meet up with sol_se. The original plan had been to stop at Jaleo, but they were closed yesterday for a "staff event," so we decided to give La Tasca a chance instead.

We ended up having a nice meal, with some yummy sangria to go with it. There was much fannish talk, and there's a possibility that I might have convinced both of them to give the X-Factor comic book series a shot. (I regret nothing.)

So, yes, basically? It was an awesome day.
