Apron, check. Piercing and ring, check. Perfect legs, check. And Zhou Mi knew he was good to go at Miracle Cafe... despite wearing a pink florally-design apron and holding a beautifully finished bouquet, much to Heechul's persistence.
"YOU'RE SO GORGEOUS, MY MAN!" It was in English, Heechul merrily screamed, and Zhou Mi only understood the man part. What he didn't understand was why he did have to put up with this.
Early morning at Cinderella's after Zhou Mi secured his bike at the back and was about to check in, Heechul greeted him via waltzing towards him with questionable objects at hand. He wanted to focus on guessing what those objects were if only his manager would stop grinning so eerily at him.
And then those were exactly it: flower-power apron and sparking blue roses.
"W-what in the world are you wearing!?" Hangkyung nearly dropped the boxes the second his stepped out from the back room and saw Zhou Mi being flocked around by little Heechul's. "You look--
"AMAZING!" Heechul interjected and shot him a sweety smile. "Feeling envious? I prepared one for you as well!"
"No, thanks. I'm good with this hand-me-down apron." He said, pointing at what Heechul thought as the most offending thing in the world.
And the florist manager couldn't be more loud than he already was.
"No way! YOU LOOK LIKE A REJECT COOK WHO GOT KICKED OUT FROM A FIVE-STAR HOTEL! Only beautiful people are allowed to stay here and surround moi! Wear that frilly yellow one at the counter now!"
"Stop making the gay man out of me!"
"You're already gay for me to begin with, doy!"
"Who in the world said--
Zhou Mi sighed and wondered why ever so early that the two bickered like this when it was scheduled to bicker after lunch, after they ate, after when Heechul would demand more Beijing Fried Rice and Hangkyung would just roll his eyes and tell him that the older one was getting fat.
Hey, it was a Cinderella's thing to do.
Heechul finally turned to Zhou Mi, ignoring the delivery man's protests. "Now here's your role: go to Teukie's place at exactly 11. Your boy and his friends are there. You know why? Because Yesunggie persuaded one of the them - Ryeo-something his name - to stay for lunch! And you'll be there delivering these beauties to Kyuhyun!"
"And then what?" The pole-man groaned, not feeling the successful-ness of the plan just yet. He was too not- ready for this. Because, hey, this was Heechul's plan - bound to trouble as always. "Just give it to him? Like that?"
HIs manager looked at him like he was sprouting nonsense. "What, you want to kiss him already? Why, Seasoning! I'd never!"
"NO!"
"Okay then! Off you go! Don't forget to say my greetings to little Ddang Ko Ma!"
Before Zhou Mi could ask who, he was pushed out from store to the busy streets. Right in front of him was the cafe and Eeteuk-sshi and Yesung-sshi was in it, waving at him too enthusiastically. He sighed and smoothened his pink apron and sniffed the still sweet-scented pearl-blue roses.
Okay, he was really good to go. And dressed to impress? Zhou Mi hoped so. It was now or never.

Little chimes filled the quiet and homey place of Miracle Cafe when Zhou Mi entered and spotted quickly the two co-owners. But the two weren't gossiping, as what Heechul would always describe them doing, but were tending to three customers.
Three familiar customers, Zhou Mi corrected, and one of them was him - that good-looking, mysterious and interesting guy.
Oh... god.
His heart wasn't helping him, nor the jitter that shot his legs. He was standing there like an idiot with a bouquet in one hand! Why, of all times--
But then Zhou Mi gaze averted to a glass container with a yellow bulb and mini-forest in it just beside him. He stared, he wondered. What was that? Oh, there was a label that said: Ddang Ko Ma's Private Lair. Feeding time, every after 2 hours. Warning, DO NOT TOUCH, TURTLE BITES LIKE DOG. DO NOT STARE, TURTLE BLUSHES. - YESUNG.
Oh. OH. So this was Ddang Ko Ma. A friggin' turtle that Heechul wanted to say hello at. What the hell?
"Zhou Mi-ah! Bring it here!" Eeteuk called from the counter, making the pole-man snap out of his turtle-stupor and deal with the real problem at hand -- which was giving the flower to certain someone. He looked and saw the three not particularly interested with who the manager was talking to and continued eating.
Zhou Mi felt a little ignored. No, it's okay, it's okay.
And, again, it was impossible not to notice the close interaction between a small guy and Yesung - behind the counter as well and was busy grinning while wiping-clean the utensils.
"Oh, those just are the prettiest things I've ever seen!" Eeteuk practically squealed and this made the three finally looked behind them, at him. Out of curiosity, of course.
It was the briefest moment, but surely the most exciting one when Zhou Mi found himself getting lost with Kyuhyun's wondering gaze. Those were the most beautiful questioning eyes he had ever seen, Zhou Mi awed and tugged the sides of lips, smiling now. Not only pretty eyes but Kyuhyun looked stunningly breath-taking. And Zhou Mi couldn't believe this was happening.
He almost ALMOST started smiling back when the large bouquet caught his attention and Kyuhyun instantly paled with the accompaniment of suddenly big eyes. Kyuhyun then swallowed; Zhou Mi noticed this and grew alarmed.
Uh, oh. Something was wrong.
"I-I gotta go. See you later." It was in a stuttering manner, like frightened and Kyuhyun hastily took his bag without another word and started making exit. His two friends were just as surprised as the other three older men.
Was it deliberately? Or just Zhou Mi? But when Kyuhyun was coming near to where he was - just at the entrance - he jerked and moved away, clamping a hand over his mouth and eyes tightly closing, all the while when Kyuhyun was near Zhou Mi. He got out from the cafe so quickly like he was in dead hurry.
Zhou Mi stood there, shocked. "Do I offend? It's... It's the apron, isn't it?" He said, teary-eyed.
"No no no! Not the apron!" Eeteuk and Yesung rushed to his side, showering him with comfort. The remaining two just exchanged gazes.
"Crap, he didn't bring his medicine, did he?" The pink-man asked.
"Probably not, after reacting like that, I bet he forgot." The third, smaller male said.
Yesung turned, looking at the two. "Ryeowook-ah, what just happened to your friend?"
"Ah, Kyuhyun's very allergic to flower, hyung. Really allergic! Right now, he's having dots all over him or... well, coughing fit. It depends with the flowers, actually. But he'll be fine after... how many hours, Sungmin-hyung?"
"Three hours max."
Eeteuk looked appalled. "That's just horrible!" He then turned to the still speechless Zhou Mi and rubbed his back. "I'm really sorry for this, Mimi-ah. We didn't know. Please don't cut ties with Miracle Cafe! We need Cinderella's for more entertainment!"
What in the world did that have to do with--- never mind.
Zhou Mi just stared downwards and knew he shouldn't fret over this because he already anticipated trouble ahead. Then again, it was the first - their first interaction and this happened! Kyuhyun avoided him like he was some kind plaque! Could he be anymore unluckier than this?
"Wait, you're the guy from that flower shop, aren't you? The one who looks like... what did Kyuhyun say again?" Ryeowook turned to Sungmin, with a knowing look. Sungmin just smiled back at him.
"Sunshine? Because of his smile, he said."
Oh? OH???
Okay, so maybe he wasn't that unlucky. Not after hearing that. Because it wasn't everyday that Zhou Mi got compliments as being compared to the sun.
It was a hint of... hope? How he prayed so.
Good thing it wasn't his apron that made Kyuhyun sick or else Heechul had Hell to pay for.
