Music & Workout

Just got back from the gym. I did a full 28 minutes on the eliptical tonight. I started the Taipei concert at "Himitsu" and made it all the way through "Blue". The pace of the concert is great to keep you going and the timing is right that I kept wanting to push on through one more song.

The Taipei Concert is so amazing. I MUST own that DVD someday. It's just such an great performance, even if you miss out on the talk bits because of them being in Chinese... they were all in superb form. Watching it makes me fantasize about them coming to the US. I mean... I bet they could sell out a couple of days worth of concerts in LA. I'd travel for that! Anyway... the set I did tonight is a little lighter pace than the opening set, but still a lot of good fast songs. I used "Tabidachi no Asa" and "Blue" as cool-down... which meant level 2-3 instead of level 3-4 and slowing my pace. I watched the "Believe" and "Truth" PVs while doing a last set of abs and lower back and then stretching out. I am in love with the eliptical cardio machines. Heart rate higher than the treadmill and more muscles worked with /way/ lower impact on my knee. (I should note the fact that around minute 22, I noticed my left foot going numb... which really worries me about circulation and that pinching sensation I sometimes get in my hips - though it's been a really long time since I've felt it on the left side.)

Tonight to and from the gym was all Sweet Honey in the Rock though. I can sing my heart out in the car and it's almost as good as Karaoke. There's just enough movement and rhythm in their music that it's great for warm up or traveling, or even weights. What I /love/ about getting better at cardio and my endurance therefore is that it's rapidly increasing my lung capacity and projection ability as well as my overall ability to move without getting out of breath. I can actually imagine being able to do 45 minutes to an hour of cardio workout... the problem will be having fun distracting things to watch or listen to. ^^ I still need to try "White" and "Six Senses" on the eliptical, I know they're a /lot/ of fun on the treadmill.

On another music note, I'm glad that I've kept RENT on my iPod... the songs make me so happy. The same is true of Tezuka's album too, even the crackier songs. Unrelatedly, "Destiny's Play" has gotten me through a couple of rough times - like on the HD rotation and I wish Tetra Fang was a real band and not a stupid promo unit from Kamen Rider Kiva. >.>

And I finally really listened to "No Myself No My Life"... Why do I feel like Doori insisted on doing a little rap bit so that he could be that little bit like UVERworld (or maybe just like Ruito-sempai... it's hard to guess).

Tomorrow I want to turn on the wiifit and log a fitness test, but before that I'm thinking bed and sleepies. Yay.

There's this jacket on my couch. >.> I need thread to match the binding. Must get done tomorrow. Pants too.

sleep, gym, music, wii-fit, health
