So... this will be a very babble-ful con report, but feel free to read on if you want.

Friday 9/11
Having taken Thursday and Friday off of work - and having only slept an hour or so on Thursday night - I was fairly well-prepared for this one. My fans got painted wednesday night and the tabi were completed thursday. We got up around 10 on friday to pack and review costume pieces - in the afternoon, we finally finished reattaching the armor plates on Kagetoki's boots making us a bit late for picking up starlit_dragon. Leaving Ft. Collins was aborted once by a forgotten wallet, and by the time we got to Denver (and found our hidden hotel) it was after 5. We checked in, moved in, and then headed over to the convention center. We ran into mazokuspaz, miladynamizoro and denimninja right outside and exchanged phone numbers, etc. They were off to explore, but we still needed to check in. So off we went to hop in line - oh wait, there was none! - to check in for our badges and then get in line for cosplay checkin.
We met up with mouse_art and several others from her group and some of my Ft. Collins girls.... but at some point we realized that we needed our cosplay forms (the website was very specific about turning them in at check in) and so went back to the room to grab them, get scissors for mouse_art's -tachi.
Armed with forms and in full Hyoutei costumes, we returned to find the line much much longer.
Signing in went something like:
'Hi.'
'Hi. We need to check in.'
'Do you have your forms?'
'Yes.'
'Really?'
'Yes.'
'Four copies of each? For each of you?'
'Yes.'
'Wow. I love masters. Ok. When do you want to be judged?'
'Well... morning sounds good, but we may need more time to get dressed...'
'Oh, you don't need to wear the costumes if you don't want to. We want to be able to see all the insides and things anyway.'
'o.o Oh.... ok. We'll take the 10:50 slot then. Sure.'
'Ok, see you tomorrow.'
'Thanks, here's our forms.'
'Oh, we don't need those until tomorrow either.'
'Oh. Ok.'

So off we went, with our 10:50 judging time. We met up with Nami-tachi for dinner at Qdoba, and after a brief field trip to rescue Vocal we returned to our hotel room to watch 100-song marathon as it was meant to be viewed: in a room full of fangirls.

ladyofthegate and I spent some of the time trimming and styling wigs. I fell in love with hairspray. Lots of discussions were had... everything from Seiyuu to Sanada to Suwabe's capri pants.

Once the girls all had to take off for various late-night events and activities, we all settled in to sleep.

Saturday 9/13
I woke up at 6:30 and after an attempt at falling back asleep, I gave into my brain and took my reference book and forms out to breakfast in the hotel lobby restraunt. (Free food at cons is awesome!)
The rest of the day coming soon~!

Now we're home and actually considering certain costumes that I swore I'd never be involved with. Seriously. I mean it. I'm looking into friendly plastic and wonderflex and ... dear sweet lord, what have I started?
It's been a really really long time since I got home from a con still going 'OMG, I want to sew!' I want to sew NOW! And not curtains, which is my next project.
