Why I hate firefox

I'm feeling my age today. I logged onto the internet and I saw my cpu usage go up to 80%. I'm not best pleased about this.
I remember the good-ole-daysTM  when the primary goals of firefox were "to be better than IE at everything".
Nowadays, it's slower at processing HTML, slower at executing javascript and uses twice the CPU and twice the RAM.
IE's pretty much a better browser than firefox. I personally can't stand IE, it looks ugly.

So, in keeping with my standard approach to Mac, it's just better. There's no arguing. It does everything Microsoft does, only better. And shinier. And faster. And with less CPU and less RAM. The same is true of Safari. It's light on the CPU, low on ram and parses HTML much much faster.

What does this mean to you? You get a faster internet experience and when you're listening to mp3s, the computer won't hang because firefox isn't eating all your ram and cpu.

I'm in the process of moving over completely from Firefox to Safari. It's going to take me a long time to remember that I don't use firefox anymore. The primary reason for this post is to share my opinion on firefox.

Firefox offers one thing, and it's a doozy, that safari doesn't. The ability to write custom plugins for. Anyone who knows basic HTML and javascript can learn to write a firefox plugin in a matter of days. Faster if you just script kiddy it. Safari lacks any plugin-ability at all.

Plugins are great. I mean, seriously, they're made of win. In making the choice between safari and firefox, it's kinda like the choice between PS3 and Nintendo Wii. I'm gonna go with shiny and pretty and ignore the better functionality. Safari all the way, here I come.
