First Christmas
"This is the one!" Harry announced, nearly bouncing out of his boots as he called Draco to his side. "Our first tree!"
He pointed to a massive tree that Draco doubted would fit in their front hall, never mind their living room. Looking at the enthusiasm and unabashed excitement on Harry's face, Draco didn't have the heart to tell him. Instead, he wrapped his arms around Harry from behind and placed a soft kiss on his neck. "It's perfect."
They paid for the tree, sent it on ahead to the house, and spent the rest of the morning shopping for decorations. A few hours later, their door displayed a festive cranberry wreath, holly adorned their living room, the (slightly-adjusted-to-fit) tree glowed with fairy lights, and the two of them snuggled together under a blanket on the sofa.
"Aren't you glad we waited until Advent to put up the tree?" Draco asked.
"I suppose," Harry said grudgingly. He'd wanted to buy one weeks before.
"Just think," Draco pointed out. "We might have missed the perfect tree otherwise."
Harry smiled as, with a wave of his wand, he directed an errant fairy back into place. She stuck her tongue out at him, but complied. A look of wide-eyed wonder, usually only seen on children, lit up Harry's face. Draco marvelled once more at the many sides of this man he loved.
"Shall we?" Draco motioned to the Advent candles at the centre of the table. They set aside the blanket and got up, lighting the first candle together. Draco found himself uncharacteristically overwhelmed by the moment. Their first Christmas together. The first of many if he had anything to say about it. He kissed Harry, afraid his voice might convey too much emotion.
Harry's soft moan and passionate response made Draco's knees weak, a reaction Harry alone had been able to achieve. Reluctantly, they ended the kiss.
Harry tucked a stray hair behind Draco's ear. "Happy Christmas, Draco."
Draco pressed a soft kiss to Harry's lips and smiled. "Happy Christmas, Harry."
