Rush was AMAZING! :D Steampunk themed set and animations, and pyrotechnics, and a string ensemble for the Clockwork Angels set - they performed every song on the album save two: BU2B and Seven Cities of Gold. YYZ was also played with the string ensemble in the background. Um, yes. Yes indeed.
The encore gave us the 2112 Overture, The Temples of Syrinx, and 2112's Grand Finale. These topped the list of 'things I want to hear live' until Clockwork Angels came out, so you can just imagine how thrilled I was to hear them live!
I wore my Starman shirt (replica of the 1976 tour shirt) a couple weeks before. Normally if I show people the Starman, they just look at me strangely. Sunday night, waiting for the bus back to the hotel, people would walk by, look at the shirt, look up, and nod in acknowledgement. You know that feeling, when random people or new people get you? Yeah, it's nice isn't it? :)
So. Next time they play Halifax (in less than another 25 years, please!) who's coming with? :D
