Rush is coming back to Halifax for the first time in 20 years! Why yes, I do have tickets. ^_^ So happy, especially because Clockwork Angels (newest album and reason for said tour) is my favorite Rush album to date. (It's a steampunk Rush concept album. Really, you might as well just hook it up to my veins.)
So. Nobody try to book me for anything the weekend of July 14. It's not happening. Rush is happening. I've also got tickets to Leonard Cohen here in town next month. Sensibly, they booked him in a much larger venue this time round since his last time through the tickets sold out in minutes. There's also a rumour that KISS may be coming to Saint John this summer. (That is the one in New Brunswick: the one in Newfoundland is St. John's.) So, yeah. I may be spending a significant chunk of change on concert tickets this year. There are worse fates.
Oh, and this just happened:
Steve: Do you have the other Star Trek mug in your room?
Me: No, it's in the fridge with parsley in it.*
Steve: ...I don't think that would go too well with coffee.
*If you put fresh herbs in water, put a plastic bag over them, and put them in the fridge they can last for up to 2 weeks. Cilantro will start to wilt sooner, but parsley will keep nicely - and it yellows to warn you its about to turn into a slimy terror. Basil apparently shouldn't go in the fridge so it's keeping the unblooming violets company. If you don't think you'll use the herbs in two weeks, take a section of them, lay them out individually on cookie sheets lined with parchment paper and freeze them. Once they're frozen you can move them to freezer bags or containers without fear of them clumping together. Then you just take out what you want whenever something calls for fresh herbs. They won't be good enough for a garnish, but to cook with yes.
Well that went random. Music and cooking tips! :P
