Wow. I am so embarrassed.
For the second time in 12 months, I've taken off my driver's side mirror. Yesterday, I pulled into my garage really tightly because there was a delivery truck on the other side of the driveway. When I pulled out again, however, I wasn't thinking about that.
Crunch. Immediately, I hit the brakes and looked around for what I could have hit. Not behind me, not to the right, not in the garage.... I looked at my driver's side mirror in time to watch it fall off and hit the ground. Clink, clink, clink. There are now wires sticking out the side where it ought to be. The mirror still has screws in it that are supposed to go through the plate on the car.
Yeah, it's a dead mirror.
Thankfully, my auto shop can get a part in tomorrow morning. Less thankfully, I get to drive to the auto shop. Do I want to go before traffic hour or after traffic hour? So many choices. But not a choice in where I'm going. I checked Car Talk's mechanic recommendations, and they didn't love anyone for Toyota in my new neighborhood. Closest person they seem to like is...a mile from my regular shop of the last two years. So I'm just heading out to the old place, near my old apartment, because they're awesome.
And also 'cuz they did this for me last year. I'm so embarrassed.
