I've been thinking about battles, notably political ones and the Copyright Wars, and come to the conclusion that there are too many battles to be fought. If I let myself think too much about these problems i get overwhelmed and start on another downward depression spiral. And anyone who has read Uzumaki knows how dangerous spirals are.

That said I do not believe that hiding my head in the sand and pretending everything is fine is a good way to live. What I need is to find a balance, a way to allow myself to have a reasonable idea of what's going on in the world without letting it get overwhelming.

I avoid watching news on the TV, which is easy since I don't watch TV at all these days. There are certain people I stalk on various 'social' networks primarily because they mention and link to interesting/important things for me to know about.

I do not believe for a second that there is such a thing as unbiased reporting, the best reporters are able to remove most of the bias from their work. Unfortunately there are some who allow bias to run rampant. There are some 'news' agencies that seem to encourage this.

I will admit that I do tend to select sources that have a comfortable bias, over ones that have an uncomfortable one. I suspect most people do, and I respect people who take in news reports with a bias strongly opposed to their own without getting overwhelmed. I'm only able to deal with such things in very limited doses.

I feel like there should be a point to this, but there isn't. I just needed to get this off my chest.
