Change

A few things have become clear to me over the past week or so. One of them is that it's time for a dramatic change in my life, a move to another city I think. The idea scares me more than I care to admit. I have always lived in Toronto, or at least I've lived here for as long as I can remember.

There are also the practical aspects to consider, but those don't frighten me nearly so much. It's the intangibles that I fear. Will I be able to psychologically handle moving away from the people I know?

I think I know where I need to go, and if I'm right there will be a sign as well as something that will make the practical aspects easier to deal with. Something that will indicate clearly that this is the right choice.

I'm more of a homebody than I care to admit. But I also know that unless I make a major move like this there are certain ways in which I will never grow. Certain parts of who I am meant to be that will never develop because there is no motivation for em to develop them.

And part of me feels the fool for being afraid. Yet thinking about it rationally I see that this fear is not entirely unreasonable. I have a safety net here, if I move to another city I won't have that.
