"getting lost in her loving is your first mistake"

Occasionally it is inspiring to read about those talented individuals who can study so hard and, sometimes, balance this with an actual life; eventually, of course, this gives them unparalled intellectual and artistic dividends.  For instance, I believe it was Joseph Campbell who set up a rigorous program after college where he read in different fields for nine hours a day.  He also imitiated Thoreau in that he did this by going into the woods and living alone.  (Incidentally, where did either of those men get the money?)  There's also such people as C.S. Lewis, Eric Hoffer, Jacob Bronowski, Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson, Leonarda Da Vinci...

Then I come home, having spent part of the day dreaming, with the best of intentions, of delving back into the last of Euripides' plays, and am utterly exhausted.  Gah.

The lyricism and melody of "Sundown" makes everything better, though.  Although it'd be nothing without Lightfoot singing it...mmm.  I think this is the seventh time I've put it the song on repeat this evening.  Youtube should be lauded for being one of the main reasons for my tenuous grasp on sanity.

She's been looking like a queen in a sailor's dream
And she don't always say what she really means
