Dude, I made a Dustin Belt fanmix! Download link, lyrics, and thoughts under the cut. If you download, please comment and tell me so.
This is based on the idea that there was a sexual relationship between Dustin and Kendall, and while it meant something to Dustin, Kendall just didn't see it that way. Set after Kendall's gotten into BTR and before the healing powers of Devon-love. Also, this fanmix is called Belt Loops. The title is based around the idea that when people are depressed for a specific reason, their thoughts cycle, or loop, around that reason. And, loops on belts. Belt loops. See?
Download the full audio here. 1. Almost Lover - A Fine Frenzy
Your fingertips across my skin
The palm trees swaying in the wind
Images
You sang me Spanish lullabies
The sweetest sadness in your eyes
Clever trick
And when you left, you kissed my lips
You told me you would never, ever forget
These images
Well, I never want to see you unhappy
I thought you'd want the same for me
2. Can't Let Go - Landon Pigg
Well you're the closet thing I have
To bring up in a conversation,
About a love that didn't last
But I could never call you mine,
'Cause I could never call myself yours
And if we were really meant to be
Well we then we just defied destiny
And now I can't let go, I can't let go
Of the past
Without lifting a finger
You're holding me back...
And then we saw our paths diverge
And I guess I felt OK about it
Until you got with another man,
And then I couldn't understand
Why it bothered me so
How we didn't die, we just
Never got a chance to grow
3. Something I Never Had - Lindsay Lohan
Were they wasted words and did they mean a thing
And all our precious time but I still feel so in between
Some day I just keep pretending
That you'll stay dreaming of a different ending
I wanna hold on but it hurts so bad
And I can't keep something that I never had
Am I a shadow on your wall
Am I anything at all
Anything to you
Am I a secret that you keep
Do you dream me while you're sleeping after all
4. Sunday Morning Coming Down - Johnny Cash
Well, I woke up Sunday morning
With no way to hold my head that didn't hurt.
And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad,
So I had one more for dessert.
On a Sunday morning sidewalk,
I'm wishing, Lord, that I was stoned.
'Cause there's something in a Sunday
That makes a body feel alone.
And there's nothing short a' dying
That's half as lonesome as the sound
Of the sleeping city sidewalk
And Sunday morning coming down.
5. Tears and Rain - James Blunt
How I wish I could surrender my soul;
Shed the clothes that become my skin;
See the fire that burns within my needing.
How I wish I'd chosen darkness from cold.
How I wish I had screamed out loud,
Instead I've found no meaning.
I guess it's time I run far, far away; find comfort in pain,
All pleasure's the same: it just keeps me from trouble.
Hides my true shape, like Dorian Gray.
I've heard what they say, but I'm not here for trouble
It's more than just words: it's just tears and rain
Far, far away; find comfort in pain
All pleasure's the same: it just keeps me from trouble
It's more than just words: it's just tears and rain
6. Prodigal Son - Harvey Dowd
They say if you love something, then set it free
But what happens if when you get home, what you see
Is a sign in the yard, with the big red letters
Telling you, "your love has moved on to something better."
7. Hundred - The Fray
It's hard I must confess
I'm banking on the rest to clear away
'Cause we have spoken everything
Everything short of I love you.
8. Siren - Adam Dubberly
And every time I sing, I sing so you can hear me
And every time I sing, I'm singing for you
'Cause I think that if I sing it
With my heart and enough of my soul
If I can sing you a little sadness,
Then you might come fill this hole you left
But I'm no siren, God I know,
But I just keep on tryin' to sing you home
So baby if you like my voice then follow it
Back to this boy who's singing
For you
And I know that this seems awfully silly
But I think that we were meant to be
And I know that you're happy with him,
But I think that you were made for me.
9. How To Save a Life - The Fray
As he begins to raise his voice
You lower yours and grant him one last choice
Drive until you lose the road
Or break with the ones you've followed
He will do one of two things:
He will admit to everything
Or he'll say he's just not the same
And you'll begin to wonder why you came
Where did I go wrong
I lost a friend
Somewhere along in the bitterness
Note: Harvey Dowd is Adam Dubberly's band. Adam was also the singer/songwriter/guitarist of the wrock band, The Mudbloods. IMO, he's kind of a genius.
