Not much to report from the western front. I'll be closing this journal by making all the old entries private and no longer posting new ones. I loved this place at one time but I feel increasingly detached from it, likely because almost all the people I used to know on here I no longer 'know' in the day-to-day sense of being likely to interact with them again in the physical realm. It's become increasingly the domain of ghosts and I must say nostalgia only merits so much attention before its becomes dangerous fixation upon past glory.
Man, what I really loved was coming on here and posting after night of partying and seeing what all my drunken mates had posted, and all the drama that ensued. What I really loved was the UCDavis community page and its ridicuous pseudo-philisophical debates- I hope they continue to this day. What I really loved was the idea that all my friends and associates would know a party or event planned as soon as there was an lj post made and I could orchestrate my life around a 20 word lj internet blog entry. What I loved was watching the endless drama of words play out month after month here as immature kids used the internet as proxy for face to face conflict resolution- friends only pgs, deletion, slander. I loved being in the center of the action, drama, heartache, and sympathies of my capricious and loyal companions.
Ahh, but I was so much older than, I'm younger than that now.
Edit: I think I'm only going to take a break from posting; and still probably close the rest of the journal. Kinda like starting a new chapter.
