I just finished reading the Adamantine Palace (first of 3) by Stephen Deas. It was a REALLY good book! A chapter is one POV but you really get to know the characters. It's very impressive. This is not the normal kind of book I would pick up to read. Generally, I only read contemporary if it has some kind of a fantasy angle to it (magic, or some such), but the name caught my eye. This is the first time I have read this author and it took me a bit to get used to his style. I am not sure what it other books are like, but this book was about 98% told as an oration. The dialogue was without quotes and was in normal text and the rare action (such as the jury movement) was told in italics. It was certainly a unique approach to ( Read more... )
