Brandon and I signed up for a photography class at the Cambridge Center this term. Based on the description, we thought it was going to focus on composition and pushing our digital point and shoot cameras as far as they will go. However, when the first lesson was "do you know how to turn on your camera", followed by "how do you know how much battery life you have left", we gave each other a look of pain (Crap, we just lost a lot of money) and dread (Crap, we are going to have to sit through this for 6 weeks). After the first hour, things got better as we got to know our classmates. I was paired up with a retiree who was incredibly snarky. She had the nicest camera there and just wanted to know how to take artsy pictures of her grandkids. So anytime things got technical like what kind of sensor do you have. She would go "I have a CCD sensor. How is knowing that going to help me take a picture?" One time she said something snarky that made me giggle right as the teacher looked up, so she thought I said it.

Now that we have photography homework, Brandon and I are getting out more. We don't want to show boring photos of our apartment. So this weekend we decided to go to Maudslay State Park and Salem, MA.
