So life is just really busy. I work too much and when I'm not working I want to relax and do nothing, but something always comes up (dog training class, grocery shopping, off schedule work meetings, etc). And then when I come home from work or various other activities listed above, my house is a mess because I don't have time to clean it. So I've realized that it just never ends and I'll rest when I retire.

Ben wants us to be more active (work out related not schedule related) so we bought tennis stuff last night. There are tennis courts at the park down the street that we'll (hopefully) start using. I could use the fun activity level but I'm just so exhausted when I get home from work and finished with errands. It'll be challenging to add stuff like that to my schedule, but we need to.

I finally caved and bought an IPOD. I'm very slow to convert to technology because of the technological curve (really expensive at first and then the better models come out and you're stuck with something out of date that was pricey). I bought the black 30GB 5th Generation Video Ipod. We're downloading like crazy now and converting our mp3's to compatible formats and such. A few months ago our laptop was going in and out for repairs and it shut down completely and we lost all of our old files, old papers and documents PLUS ALL of our music. I had thousands of songs and Ben had thousands of songs and now they are all lost. All of my free napster music from freshman year of college and on was lost. Now I'm struggling to remember all of my one hit wonders and songs of the time and get them back. It's sad but we're rebuilding!

Lucy is getting bigger and by bigger I mean 2.4 pounds:) But that actually means she has doubled in size since we got her! She's a blast. We had her brother stay with us for like 10 days while my boss was on vacation (my boss has her brother and my co-worker Glory has her sister) and they had so much fun and it was perfect timing for Lucy because she was so clingy and whiny with me. If I was home she had to be in my arms, she was a big baby. After Archie, her brother, left, she became more independent and fun. Running around acting crazy and playing tug of war with our 80 pound lab. She's still a big baby and freaks out when she wants me to be holding her, but she doesn't need me to be holding her all the time.

When my boss left for over a week, I got to do her job and my job. She had been training me for this for a few months in preparation. Her vacation fell at the worst time of the month for our jobs because it's when we have a billion things to do. But I did it! So now I have another $1 an hour which increased my yearly income with this job another $2000, and in January I'm due for another raise! I've increased my earnings here by 11% already!

I'm trying to sock away as much money as possible because we are hoping that by this time next year we can buy a house. I've done the spreadsheets and it's completely doable for me to a) pay off all my debts, i.e. credit cards, car payment, hospital bill by the end of the year and buy a house in the middle of next year. I've already twice paid off one credit card (I had to pay off a card to put the Italy trip on it and then went back and paid off the card again), I'll pay off my other card by the end of the month, then it's my car (since it has an interest rate) and then my hospital bill because it has no interest rate so it won't do any good to pay that off first when I can save money in interest by getting everything else paid off first. Being debt free will feel so good!

Other than that we have a few weddings to go to in the next few months. My best friend from high school is getting married next month (to a guy I've known since 3rd grade) so that will be fun and then my friend Lindsey from WSU is getting married in September. Too many gifts to buy!

Speaking of weddings, everyone and their dog is telling me to elope and get pregnant. I toyed around with the eloping idea (Italy anyone??:)) but I want a wedding and the wedding ideas I have are so cool...Oregon Coast, clambake on the beach, it'll be fun! So shut up Mom, you're paying for a wedding, you're not getting out that easy!
