We're ending it all where it all began

Busy, crazy week last week. I went to two practices since yesterday was the last competition. Had a two late nights because of it, but that was okay. So, yesterday was cold and dreary, but my little highlighters put on a good performance as did the whole band. There were some mistakes, so we were all worried. There were 5 other bands competing in this, including Lebanon, the county rival. As if God wanted to hype up the drama...when it came down to 2nd and 1st the only bands left were Honaker and Lebanon. Lebanon took 2nd. Yeah...HHS took 1st place!!! We were all ecstatic. I was in shock, because I watched them and really thought it could go either way. My girls came in 2nd overall to Middlesboro, Kentucky. They lost by .2 points. In the judges critique afterwards there was nothing negative and pretty much they said we were the class act musically and in overall effect in the class because the show was written and designed to highlight the strengths of everyone. It was a definite rush! It was the first competition the band was signed up for...and it turned out to be the best!

Aside from freezing, I had a good time. I lived it more this year than I had in a long time...and I will miss it. There's one more regular season football game so the band's gonna do the full show one more time...and then that's essentially it. It's been a fantastic season...the trophy case is overflowing...everyone's excited. Despite the rough patches, it's all been worth it.

Other than that...there was nothing else going on. I didn't feel good all week and this was not a good week at all WW wise. However, I've now lost more than I ever have on any weight loss program...even more than the time I did WW in high school. I probably will show a gain tomorrow, but that's okay. I'm gonna get back on track. People are noticing a lot now...me and my mom. It's definitely confidence boosting. I'm only 6 pounds away from Onederland and I've already planned to go on a shopping spree :)

This week is time to study Dia de los Muertos with the kiddies. Pretty easy week for me and for them. Ever since the first 9 weeks ended stuff has just flown by. Hard to believe November is coming this week. Thrilled because that means pay day is coming, but...where does the time go? November is certainly not as busy, but I do have two big trips planned. I'm going with Joe, Charity (wife), Jordan (cousin), and James (band kid) to Indianapolis the 16-18 for the Bands of America Grand Nationals. It will be entertaining I know. Then, I'm going to Myrtle Beach for Thanksgiving with the madre, the sister, and the niece (hopefully). I think some of Mom's friends are going too. Linda has already demanded she and I go out. That will be entertaining as well.

And of course...now that it's almost November...every football game is just one more game closer to basketball season! Happy times ahead :)

Oh..and I'm either gonna have to buy a modem or buy a new computer. Haven't decided which.

Til then, it's the weekly thing.

Cuidense!
