The fun keeps on coming...

So today I had to make a really, really hard decision...I had to put my cat to sleep :( He was steadily losing weight since the last time I posted about this a few months ago. I talked to a vet 2 months ago, and he basically told me that he'd have to run about 200$ worth of tests and the likely outcome would be something related to old age, cancer ( Read more... )

Thank you for your sympathies. I know you went through this not long ago too, didn't you? It's heartbreaking. I'll miss him very much, but hopefully in time it won't seem as painful.

I'm so incredibly sorry, love. You did what you could for your kitty and in the end, you did right by him. You loved him. I hope at least the memories will ease this ache a bit. *hugs*

Thank you for your kind words :) I really appreciate it. I know you lost your dog not long ago and my heart broke for you then as well. Losing a pet is truly losing a member of your family. Seeing all his favorite toys lying around when we got home was very difficult. Knowing he'd never play with them again...It's heartbreaking :( Sometimes I still think I hear his meow...

Coming home to the toys was awful. Coming home to the toys, the leash, the bed her used, his food dishes, even the reminder to buy dog food on the shopping list was awful. I remember after several hours of just crying, i got up, got a box and just started packing it all up. And i threw away all the dog food and bones, as at that moment i just couldn't be generous enough to give it to another dog. For some, they needed to keep those things around for themselves, for me, i just couldn't stand seeing it all, it was like torture. Every piece of furniture reminded me of him, i didn't need the toys further that point ( ... )
