Windrose Chronicles.

Go read them. No seriously. If you're someone paying the slightest bit of attention to this journal you're probably a Doctor Who fan and as such must read these books. You have no choice.

For some reason this fantastic series seems to be incrediably obscure, in spite of the fact that it is awesome beyond all sense and reason. Alright, so one of the characters is a computer programmer and it was written in the 80's so it's occasionally a little "Science! Technology! Com-pu-ters! Cutting edge floppy disks!"  This kind of mix of modern character/ fantasy world has never really appealed to me expect in this case it's so well done here that you hardly even notice. Also you're far too busy falling madly in love with Antryg to care.

Quite simply, the best character ever except perhaps The Doctor, who he seems to be based on (Hambly had said that she had Tom Baker in mind as she wrote him).  The changes she makes from Four's character, however, make him resemble Eight so closely it's uncanny.

So if you like Doctor Who and even have a passing interest in Fantasy, you'll love the Windrose Chronicles. But, as LeVar Burton used to say, you  don't have to take *MY* word for it.
