Well, at last I'm home in Atlanta. It's bittersweet--like, it's exciting to be back with my family and on summer break, but at the same time, I miss choice parts of my Ann Arbor life right now.
My packing process was rather exhausting. I spent most of Monday night and literally all of Tuesday packing up, and I was moving stuff to my grandparents' house until about 2:30 that morning. Luckily for me, my boyfriend and his roommate Ben are quite nearly saints--as are my good friend Jacob and my dear cousin Jon, who also offered me their cars and their aid at the last minute to get my stuff in storage. Chris managed to turn it into a mostly positive experience, taking me back to his room afterwards to celebrate our last night in Ann Arbor as he packed his stuff. I was weak and only lasted until about 5:00 am while he worked for at least an hour more. Wednesday morning I finished the remainder of my packing/cleaning and turned in my room key at around 2:30, I suppose. Turned out that Stephanie, Meredith, Sahib, and Max were all moving out that day, too, so my hall was basically insane. I felt like a bit of a loner as I moved out alone, but Ben was good enough to come over and help me move the boxes to be shipped home while Chris finished checking himself out. When we finally got out of Ann Arbor and headed for Chris's home, it was around 4:30 and we were exhausted.
I spent the rest of the time between then and now at his house. We had a good time, playing Mario and wandering MSU and eating Italian food, basically. It took us both until yesterday morning to realize that it's actually summer. Anyway, we also decided that he should come visit Atlanta before he leaves for New Mexico, so... I have to go to the airport again tomorrow at around noon to get him. Yes, Chris is going to be in Atlanta for a week, and I'm pretty excited. It makes me a little sad because I know he'll be out west all summer, but I'm going to focus on the excitement of having him here instead. So, yay! Chris comes to visit tomorrow!
