Went to Phuket over the weekend and I must say that the short getaway did me some good. Am wondering right now whether it did more harm than good though.
Do you know that painful bump you attain when you suddenly come crashing back to reality? Escapism into an island off the coast of Thailand made the already-harsh reality even harsher. When you are overseas, you don't have a care in the world and somehow all the responsibilities of your real life somehow melt away. And then as I descended into Changi airport on Monday morning, I felt reality sink it, and just like the landing, it was rough, uncomfortable and slightly painful. Although the taxi to the gate did finally come to an end, there's no telling when all the responsibilities will finally lighten off. In sharp contrast to the light steps I had when I stepped off the plane onto Phuket ground, I came back to Singapore with a heavy heart.
Well, all I can do right now is to look forward to my next getaway. Am only back for 2 days and already I feel like I need another one.
