But wait, there's more..

So i was reading the newspaper recently (fancy that, i know) and i came accross this wierd/funny/odd/sad article. There is this lakefront community somewhere in Mississippi that is well known in the area for its scenic beauty. Visitors and residents alike enjoy the 23 acre lake at every opportunity. imagine their surprise when the residents wake up one morning to discover that there gorgeous, 23 acre lake has been replaced by a 23 acre mud pit.

After investigating the lakebed and the surrounding area, it was discovered that a sinkhole had opened up underneath the lake and drained it, much like a bathtub when the plug is pulled. Heavy rains in the area eroded the limestone bed of the lake and caused the sinkhole to open. so there is the problem. All that remains is a solution.

Imagine the resident's chagrin when they found out that they would be responsible for repairing the damages. All told, each of the 625 residents would have to cough up about $1000 to repair the damages to their community and restore or replace their sparkling lake.

I wonder if that qualifies as an "act of god" that is covered by homeowners insurance...?
