Master Hits 04/26/13
Massu: Konban-Masuda-Takahiiiits! This is NEWS’ Masuda Takahisa. How are you all this Friday evening? Starting tomorrow, the Golden Week will be starting. So there will be long holidays for the Golden Week. The longest break for this year’s Golden Week would be 6-7 days. There are others who follow the holidays according to the calendar. According to a survey, most people spend their holidays at home. And it seems the budgets of most of these people are the same even in the Golden Week yearly. And without getting affected by the golden week, we’ll be on air regularly so I hope you all listen.
Now, I would like to introduce some mails. Masuyuki-chan from Yokohama. “Masuda-kun, good evening.” Good evening! “What do you like more, rice crackers or cookie?”
It depends with wet or not. [HUH??? HAHAHA] It’s the wet rice crackers or the soft, dry cookie. If it’s the cookie close to cake, I’d really have a hard time choosing. Hmm, I think I like cookies more, but that would depend on wet or not [I think he meant moist?? xD]. Hmmm, I think cookie. It’s cookie.
This is Masuda Takahisa on MASTER HITS brought to you by Bayfm. Please keep me company till 11:30pm.
This week’s NEWS!
For this week’s news! Starting next week, my stage play Strange Fruits will start on the 3rd till the 26th in Tokyo Globe Theater. It’s already next week, ne? Since day one of the practice, I’ve been memorizing lines and trying to internalize my character until I actually got into my character little by little. And now, I think I’m close to completion? There are a lot of great feelings and words into this play so for those who will be catching it, I hope you really look forward to it.
Also, I talked about this the last time, but Tegomass’ new single Neko Chuudoku will be released on May Nyan-nyan (22. I just got this idea that they say it’s the ‘nyan nyan’ day because ‘2’ in Japanese is ‘ni’ and ‘22’ is ‘ni-ni’ if you literally spell it out in Japanese. But that’s just my assumption xD). This time, we’ll be releasing 3 versions. There’s a DVD and a cat-ness video and the coupling included in the regular edition is really great! It’s called Sprechchor. And there’s another song called Hana ni Omouyo (‘My Feelings on Flower’ I hope I translated that right? xD). It’s country and it’s very perfect as Tegomass. But when we recorded this song, I just had a practice for Strange Fruits where I throw strong lines. There are lyrics like, “I give you my feelings through this bouquet.” (Awwwww ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡) I was getting really irritated, so I said, “Wait, can you wait for a moment?” So I switched my mood to a better one and did this song. So something like this happened. *laughs* One of these days when I’ll play this song on air, I’ll talk more about this incident in details. Both the coupling and Neko Chuudoku are really good, so I hope you all listen to it. So today, I’ll be playing the full version of Neko Chuudoku for the first time on air so please listen to the program till the end! Now, please listen to this song NEWS’ Best Friend.
(Song: Best Friend)
Now, I will be introducing your mails. First is from Matsuko-chan. “Massu, good evening.” Good evening! “I will be celebrating my birthday at the end of this month! The day after my birthday, I will be going to Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo Disney Sea. Which do you think is better? By the way, my birthday is a day different with Keii-chan. Please celebrate his birthday grand, ne?”
I see~. Disneyland or Sea. Happy Birthday! I’m very happy, Matsuko-chan! Matsuko will be one year deluxe (Matsuko Deluxe HAHAHAHA). So they’re planning to Disneyland or Sea. I Sealand (he meant “I don’t know” here which is ‘shiran’ in Japanese)! *laughs* [HE SAID FUFUFUFU HERE HAHAHA] And she said her birthday is a day apart with Keii-chan’s and WHEN IS KOYAMA’S BIRTHDAY AGAIN (in a joking way)!? *laughs* Was it June or May? Hmmm… I see. Birthday, ne? *laughs* In Sealand.
And now moving on. [OI OI HE NEVER ANSWERED THE QUESTION SERIOUSLY HAHA] Next is from Junko-chan. “Massu, good evening.” Good evening! “Congratulations on entering the 9th year of your radio show! I am getting a lot of enlightenment from your radio. Your voice is really beautiful!” ‘Your voice is really nice!’ ‘Your voice is really nice!’ ‘Your voice is really nice!’ [HE REALLY HAD TO REPEAT THIS THRICE] “Your old man jokes that you bring up sometimes are really funny! Please continue doing so!”
I entered the 9th year for the show. Thank you so much! “Your voice is really nice!” And I don’t say old man jokes! Lately, I stopped saying old man jokes, ne? Hmm, but they say you’re a quick thinker when you say old man jokes. Well, well. As expected.
Next is from Minkuru-chan. “Recently, I went to the aquarium. Do you like watching or eating fish? It was very enlightening so I suggest you to visit as well!” And there’s a picture along with it. It’s a dolphin~!
So she judged that I would eat them more, ne? This dolphin’s probably the one that talks? The white dolphin. It’s a beluga. I see, I see (HE SAID ‘NARUHODO NARUHODO’ OMG HAHA). It would be so complicated to eat while watching them in the aquarium, but if it’s between those two, I think eating them would be better.
Next is from Petenshi-chan. “Do you use the gifts you get from friends or do you keep them?”
If I receive gifts, I use them. Lately, I collect stuff like figurines or cute displays. And there are people who give me gifts like that because they know I collect them. But there are some that I keep in the box. But I also have those that I put out from the box and display them and keep the box. I don’t know if using them is the right term for this, but I display them so I use them? If they’re clothes as much as possible, I want to wear them when I see the ones who give them to me. So I use them, I guess. There are some that I can’t use anymore so they’re wasted, but since they’re worn out, I’m like “Can I have another one?” How’s that?
Next is from Yukki-chan. “Massu, good evening.” Good evening! “Here’s a question. In some interview, I heard that you like someone who can make gyoza. But what do you mean by someone who can make gyoza? From the peel? Is it when you put the ingredients after you buy the peel? I don’t know the degree of men’s standards on girls who can cook. Please tell me.”
I see~. There are people who say they like girls who can cook. So she’s asking on the standard. But that would probably depend on the guy too. There are some guys who are like me who won’t mind if the girl can’t cook. There are also some who want to cook together. But if it’s gyoza that we make at home, we buy the peel first, then we put the one inside, we mix them and put them on the peel, then we put some water and tightly seal it. We’ll make about a hundred of those and fry it. We don’t make it from the peel. Yeah, we buy the peel and make the one inside. But I also admire those who just buy like the ready-made ones and just fry them. That’s up to you. It’s up to you how much you love cooking. But for me for example if you make hamburger, I think you’re good if you put a little bit of green leaves, maybe carrots that are even effortless and maybe potatoes. And something sauce? *laughs* But maybe loco moco isn’t so bad too (Hawaiian style sauce). Putting it on top of the rice is good too. It’s up to you. *laughs*
Next is from Rena-chan. “Massu, good evening!” Good evening. “This is sudden but I don’t like tomato. I didn’t like it ever since I was small and until now, I can’t eat them. Here’s a question. What should I do to be able to eat it? I can only have processed tomatoes such as meat sauce and ketchup. Please teach me if it’s okay.”
I see, she doesn’t like tomatoes. But there are quite a number of people who don’t like tomatoes. Well, I like tomato so I really don’t know the feeling of disliking it. But I’ve been eating tomatoes cut like watermelons and put it in a bowl of sugar since I was small. It’s good and it becomes like the usual fruits. It becomes like a dessert. There are some people who put salt. But at home, we usually use sugar. We only do this sometimes, though. I think that’s good. I also like tomato juice and I drink them usually. But she doesn’t like tomatoes… I wonder how old she is? There’s a possibility that she might like it when she gets a bit older. As you grow up, there’s a possibility that you learn to eat things you use to dislike. Worse comes to worse, I think it’s okay to not eat them at all. Why not try putting salt or sugar? I think sugar is good. Try putting a lot. I think it’s good.
Now, please listen to Tegomass’ Sayonara ni Sayonara.
(Song: Sayonara ni Sayonara [Tegomass])
Masuda Takahisa’s Masterpiece!
Now this is the segment for Masterpiece. Finally, here we are. This is my first time on MASTER HITS to play this song in full. I hope all the cat lovers out there and everyone else would love this song. Please listen to the song Neko Chuudoku!
(Song: Neko Chuudoku [Tegomass])
This is Masuda Takahisa’s MASTER HITS brought to you by Bayfm. The song for this week’s Masterpiece was Tegomass’ Neko Chuudoku.
It’s nice, ne? This single will be released on May 22, 2013. May Nyan-nyan day, ne? It will be released on the 22nd. Some people will say, “Ah, this song’s for the fans?” but this one is actually about cats. But if you want to see it that way, it can also be for the fans and even for the women. This is a song I want all the cat lovers to listen to. This song was formed because our producer loves cats. We actually made this song some time ago, but we let it sleep for awhile. The song, not the cat, ne? It’s a really nice song and we’ll be taking on a different kind of performance and feel. So I hope you all look forward to it. I think it’s exciting to perform it live. I’m also very happy that we got to release it 2 months after Sayonara ni Sayonara. I hope a lot of people would like it. This is Masuda Takahisa’s MASTER HITS brought to you by Bayfm. The song for this week’s Masterpiece was Tegomass’ Neko Chuudoku.
This was Masuda Takahisa on MASTER HITS brought to you by Bayfm. We are about to end the show. I played Neko Chuudoku full version and how was it? For those who listen to Tegomass’ album and went to the live would be expecting us to do something like Cheetah Gorilla Orangutan and the other songs about animals that we have. It’s also as lively as those, but it’s our first time to release something like this as a single. So we’re confident and excited. We’re also looking forward to perform this on TV programs. We’ll have a lot of opportunities to sing this live so I hope you all look forward to it.
I am accepting different kinds of mail for the program: Questions for me, love advice, Brain Master, your reaction on Neko Chuudoku, and many more! The address is
mass@bayfm.co.jp. The spelling of mass is ‘M-A-S-S.’ We are giving away an original sticker from the program every week to one sender. I am waiting for your mails passionately for your mails. Please listen again next week. This was NEWS’ Masuda Takahisa. Byebye!
