Afterthought Edit: This is kinda boring, you don't have to read all of it.

The other day I mixed maple surup...surp...syrup, yes, that is it, with oil and poured it over freshly popped popcorn because I was craving something sweet, and it was good. Like kettle corn without the butter. I have decided to call it maple corn.

I heard it's your birthday...well, it's my birthday too...::Dances::
Speaking of which, it rocked.
Got up at 12...took a shower, always good, then the grandparents came.
Ahh...my grandparents. When they come over, we talk about this and that, polite talk, which I hate, because it requires so much of me, but nothing is accomplished. Anyway, after a little while of that, my grandfather drifts into stories, which is what I love. Stories about Scotland and Canada and going back to see the house where he was born, and visiting his grandfather before he died. The good stories, about Edinburgh and the highlands and growing up on the farm with sheep. Sheep are so annoying and stupid. And hairy. I am morally opposed to hairy things.
Anyway, it always makes me think about going there, and how wonderful it felt being there, how right.
I LOVE Japan, and will probably spend many years there, but I have to live in Scotland too. Even if just for a short while. Homes are good. I have so many of them.
So it was good. We drank tea, I asked him to do his accent, he did and called me a bonnie lass, which I'm a sucker for, and then they left. And as they pulled out of the driveway, I thought of all the stories that I've never heard that are locked away in my Grandfather's head. And when he dies, they will all die with him. Sad.
Gwen and me talked the other night on our walk, about families that aren't close which each other. To me it seems natural and the way things should be, but at times like this I wonder.

What does Gloria Estefan have to do with copper pipes? Well she's the copper pipes of the music industry. Functional, but still beautiful to look at. - Ellen

Then...RICK! He called and we went to Blockbuster, then Wok 2...8 for the lunch special, which I'd never done before and I enjoyed. And Rick talked to the people in Chinese and it was fucking HOTT. Rocked so many hard asses, like my car (WHICH IS TOTALLY NOT OLD, WRINKLY AND FLABBY!) I totally wish I could speak Mandarin so that I could talk to him, but I'm not AZN enough. (<-This is for all you's who hate it when asian is spelled with a "z"). And Cantonese, cause it's just fucking beautiful.
So that was good.

Then I talked to Ashley, also of the good kind.

The urge to herbal and the urge to top are NOT mutually exclusive - Funny girl on Livejournal

Then Gwemanda and Emily and Wegman's and Olive Garden and Danny and Mrs. Dobies and bubble chachki's and Luna bars with candles in them and soy ice cream sandwiches. Oh, and I put on deodorant! And then the fun started.

Danny is just a whirl-wind of sum'in.' A little sum'in' sum'in.' He can retell an hour's worth of Ellen jokes, and make them even funnier the second time around. And then we danced to The Jackson Five and Micheal Jackson. Well, I danced for two seconds and then got tired and watched while everyone danced. It was good. I have decided to start listening to Micheal Jackson. I want "Man in the Mirror" and "Black or White." And that Free Willy song. Gwen really fits in which the Dobies scene. Most people throw off the vibe, but it just rolls when she's there. Which is cool.
Wow, this was the best part of the night, and I have the least to say about it. Interesting.

Heh, I'm totally crashing from my caffeine high. I just fell asleep and drooled on my hand.
Ok, well, I made up the drooling part. And the falling asleep part.
But I ALMOST fell asleep, and if I HAD fallen asleep, I TOTALLY would have drooled on my hand.
Just for the look of the thing.

Crazy Lesbian in Search of Cheese (Headline in a newspaper) - It's a Ellen joke, but honestly, tell me it doesn't remind you of Bunny.

I just finished an new shounen-ai manga called "Ihoujin Etrange," by Kodaka Kazuma. It was so good, which surprised me. Yes, SURprised, not SUprised. At first I didn't like it because the art isn't very refined and it started off differently than it ended, but it was wonderful. The ending was just...perfect and happy in that heartwrenching sort of way, and the character's are just so...wonderful. Wonderful is a good word, huh? Bursting with goodness. Ricockulously so. Anyway, I highly recommend it. If you're interested, comment or drop me a line and I'll send it to you. ^.^

Over the last few months I've come to respect translators/scanlators with a new intensity. They are so wonderful in dedicating their extra time to this so all of us can enjoy things that we would never be able to otherwise. It's really quite heroic. When my Japanese becomes good enough, I'm determined to return the debt that I owe by lending my own hand in scanlations which have meant so much to me in the past.

Speaking of, I'm reading Rayearth in Japanese, and I actually kind of know what's going on. It's even better when I use my dictionary, even though it's slow going. Thank squirrels for furigana. Oh, and I'm calling my lil' bro Atsushi now. I don't know why, but it suits him.

Insert comical quote here...

I want mochi. The kind that Tedo-kun bought me the first time I ever tasted it. It was died green with grass, and that's what I want now. And Tedo's company. I've been home more than a week and haven't seen him yet. And I start work soon. Damn. >.<

On the upside though, I DID get to see Rai-rai-kun, the prince of honor and all things white. He totally didn't recognize me with my short hair and ghetto, white, trucker hat, worn SIDEWAYS. That was fun, except that he kept asking me to make decisions. For all you people who don't know, I DON'T CARE. I don't care where we go, or what we do, or eat, or sing or read or watch. Whatever you want is fine.
REALLY.
NOT even shitting you.
Just don't make me decide.

I have to pee, be right back.
K, back.

Oh, the Riv (heavy doors) is worth 6 or 7 thousand, maybe a little less, depending. Just in case the interested parties are reading this.

Ok, I think I'm DUCKS! going to go to bed now, like I said, I'm crashing.
This was kind of a boring post, but oh well. I'm tired and felt the urge to update.
Which is not unlike the urge to herbal.

So oyasumi! And be safe! ^.^
