wonderful things! good things!
So I've been pretty happy in married life! Tesla has been happy too, of course, but this is seriously just bliss. Our life is wonderful.
On top of that, I've recently joined the North American Research Group branch in my area (NARG). They apparently like me, because I've been formally invited to go on a fossil/dinosaur dig in Como Bluff, WY this summer!! I CANNOT CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT.
This has literally been a dream of mine since I was 6 years old, or however old I was when I got my first dinosaur toy. I literally have been craving this my entire life, and I am overwhelmed with happiness and almost disbelief. I am so lucky.
I bought a new tent today. One that will withstand wind, rain, heat, and cold. Next on my list is a sleeping bag - I had a tent, and a sleeping bag, but both were over 15 years old and were leaking/tearing/not retaining any warmth during cold nights. Next I will be saving up as much money as I can to fund my way to Wyoming!
We'll be taking a couple of trucks, traveling with an assistant and a doctorate paleontologist, and we will camp out near Medicine Bow for a week. I'll be right in there with the best of them, getting dirt in my face and my hair and my nails, busting rocks and hauling dirt and probably crying of happiness the whole time.
Seriously this is phenomenal. Amazing.
Also this summer, still cool but less monumental, we will be taking trips to the coast to search for concretions with fossil crabs inside, along with any other fossils in the area. With my registration and membership of NARG, I get a permit to collect as many fossils as I want in Oregon and Washington! Except on National Park land, obviously.
CANNOT DEAL. TOO HAPPY. AUGHGHGSHKGDdsfds
