LIFE LIFE LIFE. it happens.
I'm at the museum right now, but all my duties for the day are already taken care of and I don't know what special projects are in store for me today until my boss gets back from a meeting, so WHY NOT UPDATE LIVEJOURNAL? Since I have, you know, spare time right now. Haha.
I've been. so. busy. Being a part of the dragon boat team has been exhilarating and challenging and fun, and a time sink. Haha. When I'm not at practice three hours three days a week I've got to stretch, ride my bike, and try to keep in shape - or lay down at home because I'm so sore and tired! And then Wednesdays are the days I volunteer at the museum (hurr), most weekends I'm off doing activities or camping or housework - I feel like I've alienated myself from my online friends by having so much on my plate in the physical realm of my life.
I hate that I haven't been on aim or skype, I hate that I haven't been on steam, I HATE that I haven't drawn in months for the most part - and I really miss all the wonderful conversations and talks I have with you guys.
But to be honest, I'm really enjoying this new active lifestyle. Though, it is also keeping me too busy to see many of my irl friends as well. I am covered with a blanket of guilt that I don't go see swift or oce or keenan or anna and renard all the time. I feel really bad, because I love all of them! But what can you do but try for just... more often in the future?
I'm most active on twitter right now, since I can just take that everywhere with me. haha.
Campfire Tails is coming up. I'M SO EXCITED OH MY GOSH. Anyone that can go SHOULD! You won't regret it.
Also, Tesla and my wedding is coming up! I'M EVEN MORE EXCITED!!! It's just going to be a very small thing at the courthouse with immediate family, then we're all going out to a nice dinner.
AND THEN ICELAND. ICELAND ICELAND! MY HERITAGE CALLS ME HOME (part of my heritage.) Tesla and I will be traveling with our two amazing friends, C and D. It means so much to me that they will be a part of this. If it were a normal wedding, C would be my maid of honour :P
We're going to see the northern lights, go to all the museums (ALL OF THEM), visit the geothermal beaches and hopefully go on a dog sled, see the volcanoes, eat fermented shark and lamb's brains, buy some awesome sweaters, and just... ahhhhh. We're staying in Reykjavik. I cannot contain my excitement!
In other news, my dragon boat team competed in the World Beat festival races in Salem a few weeks ago. Our team's mixed gender boat came in first, and my boat (the women's boat) came in third! My first race, too. Aaaaaahhhhhh I'm so proud!
IN OTHER OTHER NEWS. I meet Airu today! She's visiting Portland for the week and had time to meet up for sammiches :D AIRU YOU ARE SO SWEET AND GENUINE AND NICE. I would love to spend more time with you and hang out and bullshit. I'm really glad you took the time to meet me. Thank you :)
I hope I will have more time to update in the future. My life is going so wonderfully right now. I am the happiest I have been in years. Almost my entire life my default emotion was just sad or depressed and agitated. This year my default emotion, with no real reason, has just been happy. I'm so lucky to have the friends and family and fiancee that I do. So so lucky and happy :)
...My boss will be back soon. I should go.
