hello beautiful people,
I bet you're all wondering where the hell is Michelle these days? Right? No, you're probably all concerned with your own lives that you couldn't be bothered with what on earth I have been up to the past couple of weeks! Truth is though, I have been busy as busy can be. It all started last sunday...12th september when I pulled an all nighter and then caught a plane at 10:30 to NY! It was a damn long flight. Not something I want to do on a regular basis, but the rewards are priceless that's for sure. I have done so much visiting of family its not funny. But I love it. I have rekindled my friendship with my cousin Louisa. She and I are very close because we are so similar in so many ways. Her son also loves me to pieces. Pauly smothers me with kisses and everything. He's so affectionate for a six year old boy. And little Louisa (his 5 year old cousin) also adores me. She's a girly girl and thinks I'm the best thing ever. In all, the little kids love me. But enough about being adored...you don't want to hear about my popularity here, I'm going to make you all jealous! Just kidding! I went out last wednesday night with the girls for appetizers and desserts at this trattoria Amici on Staten Island. It was so nice to mix with people who appreciate me and want to be my friend. I learnt so much more about each and every one of them. Also on Wednesday I had a manicure and pedicure in Brooklyn. It's so nice to be pampered every once in a while! Moreover, my aunty lou coloured my hair. It's now what she calls a hazel blonde. It's kind of dark blonde, light brown with a little reddish tinge. Kind of llike my natural colour. Everyone loves it here. I'm getting used to the change. I do like it though...it's all part of the new me! What else have I done...Oh, I celebrated Jewish New Year with Louisa's Husband Ryan and his family in New Jersey, right by the beach...so beautiful there. I had Matzoh ball soup, stuffed cabbages and koogle...all very interesting stuff for a Gentile! Had a great time with Ryan's family...they all love me there and have invited me back to their place for Yom Kippur this weekend. I'm becoming an honorary Jew! Yay me! On Saturday I went shopping with my cousin Joey's girlfriend Christina...I have another new best friend. I so love her! She's so much fun to hang out with and she's even going to try and come visit me in TO when Joey goes to Vegas later this year. We have a lot in common too. I didn't buy a great deal, just some costume jewelry from Macy's. Saturday night I had Anthony's (my cousin Joy's husband) cousin's wedding. This was a HUGE night for me in so many ways. First, aunty lou made me wear this slinky black dress of hers...which, according to joey, looked hot on me. I had to trust him didn't I? So then this wedding...certainly nothing like the weddings back at home in Aussieland. First, there was cocktail hour...which consisted of a buffet of foods from all around the world and cocktails. This is where my drinking began, and certainly did not end...don't yell at me mum but wait to you hear how much I can handle! So, uncle Johnny started me on two malibu something a rathers. They were good too. I didn't eat a great deal because as I was warned early, there was a meal to follow! How much food can a person handle? Then we went into the main ball room. I was sitting on the "cool" table with Joy and her husband anthony, my cousin Sammy and his wife kim, Anthony's sister and her husband, anthony's brother Nick, his friend Alex and someone else who I cannot remember. And what's more, our table was right next to the bar! Anthony was absolutely drunk out of his mind...so was kim...but who handles their liquour the best...well a little girl all the way from the land down under. By the end of the night I had managed to down a combination of coctails and spirits to the tune of 12 glasses and I wasn't even tipsy. I blew them all away. I rock over here! I am the party's centre. I was adored by everyone at this wedding! I am finally getting back to my old self. Got home late, which was a shame coz I could have partied all night. Slept well, as one would expect after 12 drinks! Did wake up early though. Sunday was the christening of my cousin Johnny's son Paul. The church was pretty boring...but then again, you all know my reaction to churches right? But the party was great. Once again, I was on the "cool" table. I was with all my cousins, including my bestest friend Louisa, and her cousin Marissa. She's also become my new best friend and she's going to take me out on the town next time i'm in NY. For the second night in a row, the non-alcoholic showed the people of NY just what an aussie can do. I tried every martini under the sun...to the tune of around 8 drinks. Once again, not at all tipsy...I do much better here than I did at my farewell party! Goddess knows why? Then we come to Monday. I spent Monday with my Aunty Pauline and Uncle Paul. We went to ground zero which brought out so many emotions in me. I didn't know whether to feel sad or angry, hurt or ashamed of the world. I almost cried...very moving place. What made me ultra angry though were the evil people selling 9/11 memorabilia outside the zone. Sick I say. Then we went to south sea port and had a delicious lunch and walked around there, caught the ferrie home and that was a busy day. Then Tuesday Louisa and I went into Manhattan once again, by bus this time, and went shopping down Canal st and chinatown the village and soho. We had lunch out too which was also lovely. Too scared to hop on scales right now though...they feed me way too well here! And today, once again, is Wednesday. Had a lazy day - watched tv and rested. I so wish I had a scanner so I could send you some of my photos. They're so much fun. Truth is, I'm having so much fun. I love it here. I so could move here, in a flash, if it weren't so expensive! I just have to find me a nice husband here with a hell of a lot of money. That's the solution, right? Not sure what's happening until Sunday when I finally move to canada to stay with my bestest friend Michelle and her husband Eugene. I will try and call you soon sweetie! If any of you pray or anything, please send out some blessings to my cousin Sonya who's not too well, she's only 14 and having major surgery...I wish my love to her. Everyone back at home, I hope you miss me, I do, in all honesty, miss you all too. Please email me though, I love news from home!
Everyone, my message for you all is that I'm having a great time and yes mum, I'm staying safe! I love all my friends and family all around the world so much...never forget that! My next update will probably be from TO.

Kisses and peace on earth,
Michelle

PS I will fill you in on my details in TO when I get there!
