Today was my first trip to Haymarket. OMG How did I not know about this place?! The herbs, the produce, the cheese, the butcher.... I was just in hog heaven. I had waaay too much fun. At one stall (fresh herbs), I just got some of this, that, that, this, oh, and this, and this... and some of these. Well, $5 later (Yeah, just $5!), I had a plastic bag full of green. And all I needed to keep myself happy was to open it and sniff. Passersby probably thought I had some pot in there or something. Nope. Just basil, cilantro, parsley, and a few other odds and ends, and green things of yum.
So, this evening, I needed a light meal after the test feast (which went well. YAY. Everyone get on board for the 40th, it'll be great!) and I opened the bag o'green. I pretty much took a small pan and put in some chopped zucchini, some broccoli florets, and some left-over cooked chicken from Eve's Chicken Barida dish.... and cooked. And added garlic and a whole huge 2 handfuls of chopped GREEN. I am happy now. It actually all came together well. And I have a plateful of green (with a few pieces of white chicken.... next time, I'll add some tomatoes for the red, too).
I just can't get over how many green ingredients there are here.... can't Haymarket be close by, instead of all the way in Boston, with NO affordable parking anywhere?????
