Summary: Chanel in the neighborhood launderette and Jiyong didn't go well together. / You have to dress like it first.
Warnings: none.
Seunghyun’s family owned the neighborhood coin-operated launderette. He sat behind the register on Saturdays, selling detergent and fabric softener but mostly exchanging coins for bills and watching peoples’ machines for them as they went to run errands. Jiyong hummed a song beside him, waiting for his shift to end so they could go to the arcade.
There was a clatter as Jiyong suddenly got to his feet and ran to yank open the door of a washing machine. “That guy just put a Chanel suit jacket in here.”
“Yes, and?”
“I’m going to give it a better home.”
“With you.”
“Me.”

Modest beginnings wasn’t something Jiyong mentioned to the public, mostly because modest wasn’t his style. He was the kid, at fifteen years old, parading around town in Chanel suit jackets, Ralph Lauren polos, and the whole I-got-away-with-it look smudged on his face.
Seunghyun tagged along, his paranoia forming an awkward stint between them. “You just stole from a laundry machine. Who does that?”
Even though nobody knew, it felt like everybody was watching them. Adjusting the collar of the oversized shirt, Jiyong told him, “I want to be famous, and everybody knows that you have to dress like it first.”
