Crosspost Sentinel/SG1 or SGA
I seem to remember a fic in which Jim and Blair are pursuing some criminal or others (or maybe Blair was kidnapped again and Jim found him or something) and they end up burning to death in a hangar.
Except that instead of just dying, they ascended.
I'm not sure about the rest. Maybe they came back as human and went to help the Stargate program? (I think it was SGA instead of SG1, but I'm not sure at all).
Does anybody remember this fic?
